* WHAT...Heat index values mainly as high as 100 to 110 degrees during the afternoon and early evening hours. * WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas and central, east central, and south central Nebraska. * WHEN...From noon Saturday to 10 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight low temperatures on Saturday night and Sunday night will provide only limited relief from the heat, dropping no lower than the low to mid 70s.

Recommended Action

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
