* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of northwest Kansas, including the following counties, Decatur and Rawlins. * WHEN...Until 400 PM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 512 AM CDT, flooding continues across the warned area, where 3 to 7.5 inches of rain was observed with slow moving thunderstorms Saturday evening and very early this morning. - Rain has long since ended. However, additional rainfall is possible with scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Oberlin, Atwood, McDonald, Ludell, Blakeman, Beardsley and Leoville.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
