* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kansas, including the following counties, Cowley, Harper, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. * WHEN...Until 345 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from rainfall last night. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1155 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain fell overnight. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wellington, Kingman, Clearwater, Cheney, Conway Springs, Oxford, Argonia, Norwich, Cunningham, Viola, Nashville, Murdock, Waterloo, Willowdale, Mayfield, Zenda, Milan, Spivey, Cleveland and Danville.

Recommended Action

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
