...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas... Slate Creek At Wellington affecting Cowley and Sumner Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Slate Creek at Wellington. * WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 23.5 feet, Expect extensive cropland and field flooding along the creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 22.4 feet and falling. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight and approaching near its average stage on Wednesday. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.

Recommended Action

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
