* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas, including the following counties, in east central Kansas, Geary and Wabaunsee. In northeast Kansas, Riley. * WHEN...Until 515 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 311 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Alma, Maple Hill, McFarland and Paxico. - This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 311 and 345.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
