* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. This area of rainfall is moving over areas that have already received heavy rain earlier today. * WHERE...A portion of northwest Colorado, including the following county, Garfield. * WHEN...Until 200 AM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Mudslides or debris flows are possible. Avoid traveling and recreating through the advisory area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1053 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.2 and 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Glenwood Springs, Cattle Creek and Shoshone. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
