* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southwestern Clay County in west central Missouri... Northeastern Jackson County in west central Missouri... * WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 207 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kansas City, Independence, Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Oak Grove, North Kansas City, Sugar Creek, Buckner, Lake Lotawana, Lake Tapawingo, Levasy, Napoleon and Tarsney Lakes. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
