Eastern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... * Until 400 PM CDT. * At 1202 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Up to 2 inches of rainfall has occurred due to these storms in northwestern Cook County. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor drainage areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Chicago, Cicero, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg, Bolingbrook, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Oak Lawn, Berwyn, Mount Prospect, Wheaton, Hoffman Estates, Oak Park, Downers Grove, Glenview, Elmhurst, Lombard and Buffalo Grove.
