FFWEWX The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Eastern Bandera County in south central Texas... Kendall County in south central Texas... * Until 415 PM CDT. * At 1126 AM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding in Boerne and heavy rain continuing. Between 2 and 8 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Medina, Boerne, Comfort, Bandera, Fair Oaks Ranch, Nelson City, Welfare, Waring, Walnut Grove, Kronkosky State Natural Area, Sisterdale, Kreutzberg, Pipe Creek, Old Tunnel State Park, Bankersmith, Bandera Falls, Bergheim, Lakehills, Kendalia and Guadalupe River State Park.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
