* WHAT...A dangerous combination of oppressively humid and hot conditions with heat index values between 105 to 115 expected into the evening. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri. * WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.

Recommended Action

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
