THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 544 IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN CONNECTICUT THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN NORTHWESTERN CONNECTICUT LITCHFIELD IN MASSACHUSETTS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS BERKSHIRE IN NEW YORK THIS WATCH INCLUDES 9 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL NEW YORK ALBANY COLUMBIA DUTCHESS GREENE RENSSELAER SCHENECTADY SCHOHARIE ULSTER IN EASTERN NEW YORK MONTGOMERY THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALBANY, AMSTERDAM, ARLINGTON, ATHENS, BEACON, BREAKABEEN, CAIRO, CATSKILL, COBLESKILL, COXSACKIE, DALTON, FLORIDA, GILBOA, HANCOCK, JEFFERSON, JEFFERSON HEIGHTS, KINGSTON, LIVINGSTONVILLE, MIDDLEBURGH, NEW LEBANON, NEW PALTZ, NORTH ADAMS, NORTH BLENHEIM, PITTSFIELD, POUGHKEEPSIE, ROTTERDAM, SCHENECTADY, TORRINGTON, AND TROY.

At 327 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Hunter to near Woodland Valley Campground to near Willowemoc. Movement was east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Catskill, Saugerties, Hunter, Woodstock, West Hurley, Saugerties South, North-South Lake Campground, Woodland Valley Campground, West Shokan, Kenneth L Wilson Campground, Phoenicia, Mount Tremper, Lanesville, Olivebridge, Veteran, Shandaken, Centerville, Lexington, Denning, and Tannersville. This includes Interstate 87 near exit 20.
