* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following areas, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern Queens, Richmond (Staten Island) and Southern Queens. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of heavy showers with embedded thunderstorms are expected through this afternoon with localized rainfall rates of 1" to possibly 2" per hour possible. * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union and southeast New York, including the following counties, Bronx, New York (Manhattan) and Richmond (Staten Island). * WHEN...Until 145 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, as well as quick responding streams and small rivers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1041 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 1/2 inches are expected over the area through 1 pm. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Newark, Jersey City, Elizabeth, Bayonne, Mott Haven, Hoboken, Plainfield, East Tremont, Linden, Orange, Summit, Lyndhurst, Millburn, Rutherford, Secaucus, Harrison, Ridgefield, Todt Hill, Huguenot and Midtown Manhattan. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
