Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with locally very heavy rainfall are expected today and potentially continuing through tonight. These river forecasts could change based on how Tropical Storm Arthur or its remnants tracks across Louisiana and Mississippi late tonight and Thursday. For the Amite And Comite Rivers...including Denham Springs...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Amite River at Denham Springs. * WHEN...Until Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, Flooding will begin in the westernmost parts of Denham Springs. River Road at the foot of Benton Lane will flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 28.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 24.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to 30.5 feet early Friday morning. It will then fall Friday evening. It will rise to 30.2 feet Saturday evening.
